Warehouse Manager

Overview

We are partnering with an established flooring organization to identify a hands-on Warehouse Manager for its Chicago, Illinois operation. This is an onsite leadership role responsible for daily warehouse operations, inventory, material handling, staffing, and coordination with sales, purchasing, branch management, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse operations and personnel
• Oversee receiving, inventory storage, picking, staging, loading, transfers, and returns
• Ensure flooring materials are properly received, identified, stored, and staged
• Maintain inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies
• Coordinate material preparation and pickup for flooring installers and installation crews
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse
• Manage employee schedules and productivity expectations
• Train, coach, and develop warehouse employees
• Maintain safe warehouse practices and equipment operation
• Coordinate closely with branch management, sales, purchasing, and installation
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and workflow
• Implement standardized warehouse procedures and best practices

Ideal Background

• 3–5+ years of warehouse leadership experience
• Strong understanding of receiving, inventory, picking, staging, and material handling
• Flooring industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with flooring installers or managing installation logistics highly desirable
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
• Forklift and warehouse equipment experience
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
