The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations within a plastics manufacturing facility. This role ensures the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and shipment of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining accurate inventory control and coordinating freight and transportation. The Supervisor leads warehouse personnel, enforces safety and quality standards, and works closely with production, purchasing, and customer service to support on-time delivery and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
The essential functions of the job are as follows:
* Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, staging, storage, and material handling
* Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods
* Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and space optimization
* Enforce safety procedures, OSHA compliance, and proper use of equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
* Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
* Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing lists
* Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, shortages, or delays
* Ensure outbound shipments meet customer, carrier, and regulatory requirements
* Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials and finished goods
* Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve variances
* Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in ERP systems (MISys)
* Support inventory optimization, FIFO practices, and scrap reduction initiatives

* Arrange and schedule freight with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers
* Negotiate freight rates when applicable and select cost-effective transportation options
* Prepare and review bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs or compliance documentation as required
* Monitor freight performance and address carrier issues or service failures
* Supervise, train, evaluate warehouse and logistics staff
* Assign workloads and schedules to meet production and shipping demands
* Collaborate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to align inventory/delivery needs
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse efficiency and logistics performance
* Maintain a clean and organized department
* Preform any other job within in the plant as required by the Production Manager or VP of Operations.
