Warehouse Manager - Cosmetics Company

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within a cosmetics distribution or manufacturing environment. This includes managing inventory of beauty and personal care products, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, maintaining product quality standards, and leading warehouse staff in a fast-paced, detail-oriented setting. This role is critical in ensuring products are stored, handled, and shipped in compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of cosmetic products
  • Ensure proper handling of beauty and personal care items to maintain product integrity (fragile, temperature-sensitive, or regulated items)
  • Manage inventory accuracy, including batch tracking, lot control, and expiration date monitoring
  • Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse associates and leads
  • Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality standards specific to cosmetic products
  • Coordinate inbound shipments from manufacturers and outbound shipments to retailers, e-commerce, and distribution partners
  • Monitor order accuracy, fulfillment speed, and productivity metrics
  • Conduct cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage
  • Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, organization) for cosmetic inventory
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and quality control teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, or damages
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-7 years of warehouse experience, preferably in cosmetics, beauty, personal care, or consumer goods
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience with inventory systems (WMS preferred) and lot tracking
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Strong attention to detail (critical for cosmetic SKU accuracy and labeling)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-SKU environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in cosmetics, skincare, or fragrance distribution
  • Knowledge of FDA or cosmetic labeling/handling standards (a plus)
  • Experience with e-commerce fulfillment (Amazon, Shopify, retail distribution)
  • Lean/continuous improvement experience
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills

Work Environment

  • Warehouse/distribution center environment with beauty and personal care products
  • May involve standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and operating equipment
  • Fast-paced environment with high SKU variety and frequent order turnover
  • Occasional extended hours during peak shipping periods or product launches
