Additional Compensation Details:

Responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and on the floor directing of the warehouse on a day-to-day work plan. Responsible for warehouse safety, order accuracy, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Essential Managerial Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper training of staff by training new hires and re-training on an as needed basis.
  • Partner with Human Resources/Recruiting on hiring initiatives and practices.
  • Uphold Employee Handbook policies.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely payroll approvals, manage warehouse overtime.
  • Responsible for communicating overall issues with inventory status, receiving or shipping issues and warehouse slotting of products.
  • Responsible for shift/department productivity.
  • Responsible for conveying maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Lead by example should be able to perform the jobs and fill in when necessary.
  • Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of OSHA local and state regulations.
  • Recommends equipment requirements and replacement to the Operations Manager in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
  • Responsible for Quality and Food Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Department Duties and Responsibilities (any combination of the following job duties):

  • Maintain inventory in Power Warehouse
  • Replenish slots from Full case and from newly arrived stock delivered by Receiving.
  • Monitor and check orders for Watchlist customers
  • Fill Shorts from Short sheets and correct Mis-Pick orders
  • Ensure the nightly pick progresses in an orderly manner
  • Supervise Order Selectors when the Manager is off
  • Use as necessary to complete essential functions, the riding pallet jack, forklift and scanner
  • Maintain accountability of Vocollects that are daily assigned to the Order Selectors
  • Using Vocollect, the system assigns a unit of work from the system. The Vocollect then guides the worker through the entire pick orders in sequence of the routes.
  • Place orders on pallets with special consideration given to maximizing product care, taking into account wet vs. dry goods, organic, allergens, frozen goods and proper stacking to ensure safe transport and delivery to the customer.
  • Stage completed pallets in the loading area for full-case orders.
  • Load trucks as determined by delivery schedule.
  • Maintain the warehouse and equipment in clean and orderly condition. Ensure no product is left on the floor.
  • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality.

Peripheral Duties:

  • Support and implement food safety, workplace safety and quality assurance initiatives
  • Support and implement the company's initiatives to promote positive employee morale and team building.
  • Tasks and special projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in warehouse shipping and handling, preferred
  • Minimum of two 3 to 5 years of experience in managing 5 or more employees, required
  • Experience WMS AS 400 preferred
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, And PowerPoint.
  • Inventory Management experience is a plus
  • Must be able to safely operate all warehouse equipment
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and center rider pallet jack
  • A vast knowledge of the fresh produce or perishables industry is needed to be successful in this role.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and follow through on projects.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and short deadlines.
  • Critical Thinking, ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of management internally and externally.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.

Supervision Exercised: This position will supervise employees. At times this position may be privy to sensitive employee information and will be expected to handle this information appropriately and with the up most confidentiality.
