Job Description

We are looking for a dependable and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations for a busy moving and storage operation. This is a hands-on position that involves managing employees, keeping inventory organized, preparing trucks and equipment, and making sure the warehouse is ready for daily business.

The Warehouse Manager will work closely with moving crews, drivers, operations, customer service, and management. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable managing a team, and willing to jump in and help when needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, staging, loading, and unloading materials.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and secure.
• Prepare trucks, equipment, and supplies for moving crews each day.
• Manage household goods, commercial storage, packing supplies, and other inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete regular inventory counts.
• Make sure items entering or leaving storage are properly documented.
• Locate and resolve inventory discrepancies or misplaced items.
• Organize storage areas, racks, containers, and other warehouse space.
• Work with moving crews to make sure they have the materials and equipment needed for each job.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials when needed.
• Monitor trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and report repair needs.
• Supervise, train, and provide direction to warehouse employees.
• Assign daily work and make sure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
• Review employee timesheets for accuracy.
• Communicate with management about staffing, inventory, equipment, and warehouse needs.
• Make sure employees follow safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
• Conduct regular safety checks and address hazards or concerns.
• Maintain accurate warehouse, inventory, storage, and equipment records.
• Assist with other warehouse and moving operations as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of U.S. driving experience required.
• Previous warehouse, warehouse management, or operations experience preferred.
• Experience supervising or leading employees.
• Experience with inventory control and storage.
• Moving, logistics, distribution, or household goods experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Experience with trucks, fleet management, or warehouse equipment is helpful.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.
• Able to work independently and make decisions when needed.
• Must be comfortable working with drivers and moving crews.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position and requires the ability to:

• Lift and move items weighing 100+ pounds when needed.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, push, and pull.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
• Move household goods, materials, and equipment.
• Work around forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Work in varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other normal warehouse conditions.

Schedule & Work Environment

The Warehouse Manager will work primarily in a warehouse environment and should be prepared to assist with daily operations as needed. The position may require flexibility based on moving schedules, customer needs, staffing, and business demands.
