Warehouse Manager positions supervise and coordinate the activities of several City storage facilities; supervise, train and evaluate the work of subordinates; maintain adequate stock levels; assist in preparation and execution of auctions; supervise the receiving, storing and shipping of surplus and salvage equipment and materials; plan the layout of materials at several storage facilities; assist in preparing budget estimates of needed equipment; resolve stock discrepancies and inquiries by contacting vendors and/or other City department personnel; write reports and correspondence; create and maintain standard operating procedures; maintain records; supervise adherence to safety rules and regulations pertaining to storeroom procedures, equipment, and handling of hazardous materials; may operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks; and perform other duties as assigned.
NOTES:
Employees in job classifications represented by the Municipal Employees Association (MEA) are scheduled to receive the following general wage increases:
3.5% effective 7/1/27
2% effective 7/1/28
2% effective 1/1/29
Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
Warehouse Manager employees may be required to work standby shifts for which they may receive an additional 5% in pay.
Warehouse Manager employees may be required to work overtime.
