Lead the multi-site warehousing and distribution functions to ensure materials and products are safely and securely received, moved, stored and shipped on-time. Manage all activities to ensure an efficient operation without bottlenecks or delays. Manage both the plants and the warehouses' needs and requirements. Support Director of Logistics with additional corporate and national warehousing tasks and projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Safety comes first for all operations. Responsible to build and maintain a safety minded culture
  • Ensure all warehouse employees are properly trained and have refresher training on operating material handling as required by law
  • Ensure compliance with material handling pre-shift equipment inspections and record keeping of same
  • Ensure proper trailer chocking and other yard safety measures
  • Participate in company safety initiatives and meetings. Follow all rules and recommendations as directed by Sabert's HSE team and Sabert's leadership team
  • Follow all laws and regulations to ensure safety

Maintain the warehouses in good and clean operating conditions with materials and equipment properly maintained and in good condition

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all activities at on and off-site warehouses: Safety, quality, operational execution, staffing, financial performance, metrics, continuous improvement
  • Manage and lead each site with their respective warehouse supervisors, leads, clerks and associates
  • Meet and exceed warehouse related productivity and financial metrics and report daily warehouse schedule attainment
  • Full budget and P&L responsibility
  • Maintain shuttle tractor and trailers for reliability and legal requirements as well as assure driver coverage
  • Manage the available dock space efficiently.
  • Work with corporate transportation to maintain an adequate supply of dropped trailers for preloading
  • Monitor all facilities, inventories, equipment, etc. to avoid theft and damages

Quality and Product Safety:

  • Ensure all warehouses pass all audits (BRC, quality, internal, sanitation, etc.) with superior ratings
  • Ensure all outbound shipments leave on time, are picked and loaded accurately (correct quantities and SKU's) and arrive at destination undamaged and complete (On time and in full). Customer deductions and reports will be used to measure improvement
  • Ensure material and product are received and delivered in sanitary trailers and their security is not compromised

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain inventory accuracy above 99.9%
  • Eliminate customer deductions for claims of overages, shortages and damages
  • Maintain warehouse condition so as to eliminate internal damage to product

Other:

Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.

Previous Experience

  • Multi-site experience
  • Worked in a make to stock 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Managed warehouses attached to manufacturing plants
  • Significant warehouse systems based experience (SAP and SAP WM knowledge a plus)
  • Familiar with transportation operations and inventory accounting procedures and cycle count programs
  • Experienced managing with productivity and financial metrics
  • Familiar with warehouse layout analysis

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A personal values system encompassing a strong work ethic, integrity, stability, sense of fair play, urgency, and a desire and willingness to assume responsibility
  • A team player with a cooperative style able to reach out to his/her own team but also can be effective cross functionally
  • The ability to work in Sabert's culture, which is fast-paced and requires a great number of projects moving forward simultaneously

  • Hands-on, pragmatic work style
  • Good planning, organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision

Qualifications

College Degree or five year's experience in a high volume fast moving distribution center with RF bar codes
