Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and warehouse staff while ensuring safe, efficient, and organized workflows. This role coordinates material movement and warehouse activities across multiple projects, prepares operational and compliance reports, and tracks performance metrics to support continuous improvement. The position also manages warehouse technology systems and collaborates closely with project teams to ensure timely and accurate logistics support.

 

Job Description

  • Warehouse Operations and Maintenance
    • Initiate and coordinate operational policies and procedures.
    • Maintain physical warehouse condition by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, and managing repairs and replacements as required.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local warehousing and material handling requirements.
    • Process WIT tickets and coordinate pickup/delivery of material with projects.
    • Manage Warehouse equipment and ensure any maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management
    • Learn and implement the company’s inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures.
    • Monitor demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies and coordinate with projects to address needs.
    • Properly order new supplies to avoid excessive surplus or inefficiencies.
    • Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations, and stock levels.
    • Track tools used by projects to ensure they are in good working condition and with the correct person.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Report on inventory levels, delivery status, procedural efficiency, and personnel issues to upper management regularly.
    • Communicate daily with the Warehouse crews and staff, and complete daily safety, quality, and safety plans for all Warehouse operations.
    • Coordinate regularly with project management.
    • Give direction to Warehouse Crews and staff to ensure warehouse processes are followed.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve warehouse logistics procedures.
    • Perform standard administrative tasks, including payroll timesheet approval and warehouse asset tracking.
    • Ensure manpower is adequate and vacations are properly covered.
    • Maintain DOT compliance of Warehouse employees in the DOT program.

 

Skills Required

  • 5 years of experience in similar role.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety and quality
  • Effectively works with all team members in a collaborative way and accepts additional job responsibilities outside the scope of his/her position as needed.
  • Knowledge of warehouse equipment, operation, and maintenance.
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and programs
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc) and SAP
  • Organizational and logistics skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and implement standards and processes.
  • Basic level understanding of technical aspects.
  • Experienced or willing to operate fork lift and warehouse equipment as required.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or GED

 

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
  • Frequently standing, walking, kneeling, and bending as required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon the season.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Pay Rate $35 - $45/ hr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
