Central Plains Steel, A Divison of Feralloy Corporation is looking to hire a reliable Material Handler to support daily warehouse operations, including material handling, parts breakdown, and shop organization. This role involves pulling material, removing laser‑cut parts, inspecting quality, packaging orders, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. You’ll work closely with your team to ensure efficient workflow and accurate order processing.
Physical Requirements: Stand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive Motion Function in the Job: Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job Function:
- Pull and prepare materials according to work orders
- Remove laser‑cut parts and perform basic quality checks
- Sort, package, and tag materials
- Move material using forklift, crane, or yard truck
- Complete basic documentation and inventory spot checks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Report issues or irregularities to your supervisor
Required Skills:
- Valid driver’s license
- 0–5 years of warehouse or material‑handling experience (preferred, not required)
- Ability to lift 60–100 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to operate or become certified on forklifts and overhead cranes
- Strong teamwork, communication, and safety awareness
