The Warehouse Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant movement of products within Thorne's Inventory Warehouse Department. This position is responsible for receiving deliveries, relocating materials using forklift, pallet jack, order pickers, or putting up finished goods while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Warehouse Material Handler collaborates with team members, maintains accurate documentation, operates material-handling equipment, and supports overall workflow efficiency to ensure customers receive the correct products on time.
Operating Schedules:
- 1st Shift 7:00am- 3:30pm
- 2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm (+$2.25 Shift Differential)
- 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am (+$2.25 Shift Differential)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Inventory Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), safety requirements, and company policies.
- Accurately receive, issue, inspect, label, store, and stage raw materials and packaging supplies for production.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, complete required documentation, and assist with daily inventory counts.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse using established inventory practices, including First In/First Out (FIFO).
- Support the efficient flow of warehouse activities while following OSHA and site safety standards.
WHAT YOU NEED
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior forklift, pallet jack and order picker experience is required.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions in English, including SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and decimal-based measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately distinguish between product codes and lot numbers.
- Ability to safely work with ingredients and products containing potential allergens, including nuts, soy, dairy, fish, and shellfish.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work a full shift, including overtime as needed, in a warehouse environment with moderate noise levels.
- Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds, including repetitive lifting from floor to table height.
- Ability to stand, move throughout the warehouse, and perform repetitive reaching, grasping, and wrist movements during a shift.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead as required.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Ability to climb and descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to see and read small print and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
