Warehouse Material Handling Specialist — Clamp & Sit-Down Forklifts

A day in the life

You arrive for your 1st or 2nd shift, conduct a quick pre-operation check on your sit-down forklift, and sync with the team on priorities. Your first task: use barcode scanning to pick orders with precision, staging products for outbound loads. Next, you switch to a clamp truck to carefully move high-value, non-palletized goods without damage. Throughout the day, you’ll load and unload trailers, verify paperwork against shipments, and keep inventory organized through our warehouse management system (WMS). Between moves, you inspect equipment, address minor issues, or alert maintenance so operations never skip a beat. Safety is your constant companion—OSHA rules and company protocols guide every turn of the wheel.

What you’ll do

• Operate a range of powered industrial trucks: sit-down forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, pallet jacks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and order picker equipment.
• Load and unload trailers efficiently while following safe lifting and manual handling practices.
• Use barcode scanners and WMS to pick, put away, and track inventory with high accuracy.
• Organize storage locations to prevent damage and maintain smooth material flow across the warehouse.
• Complete routine inspections; perform basic fixes or promptly notify maintenance of issues.
• Verify inbound and outbound shipments against documentation to support shipping and receiving.
• Partner closely with supervisors and teammates to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

What you bring

• Hands-on experience with forklifts (including lift trucks, reach and clamp), pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment.
• Comfort with OSHA safety standards and forklift safety protocols.
• Proficiency using barcode scanners and WMS for inventory control.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials safely.
• Solid basic math for counting, measuring, and confirming quantities.
• Clear communication skills for smooth coordination across the warehouse.
