The Packaging and Warehouse Team Member is responsible for ensuring efficient operations within both the packaging and warehouse departments.
This role involves handling materials, managing inventory, executing packaging processes, and maintaining quality standards to support Diageo's supply chain objectives while promoting a "Safety First" culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a Zero Harm environment by adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping rules.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Food Safety Regulations.
Packaging Operations:
- Perform manual tasks such as erecting empty cases, uncasing bottles, cleaning, re-working labels, replacing stickers/ribbons/designs.
- Operate forklifts to move raw materials and dry supplies (forklift experience preferred).
- Clean and troubleshoot machinery to maintain optimum performance.
Warehouse Management:
- Receive, store, and distribute materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Load equipment with packaging supplies; this may include lifting overhead.
General Duties:
- Repair substandard packages by relabeling bottles or restacking boxes on pallets.
- Pick up, move, and dump garbage/recycling containers.
- Keep area(s) updated with 5S practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. constantly.
- Frequent repetitive motion handling bottles or equipment.
- Dexterity in manipulating controls and repairing packages.
- Climbing stairs/ladders; frequent standing/sitting based on equipment needs.
- Frequent walking; minimal pushing/pulling depending on loads.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to safety procedures.
- Experience in packaging or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments like Operations, Risk Management, Quality Assurance etc.
This position requires flexibility in working hours due to the dynamic nature of supply chain operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Details:- Education High School diploma or GED
- Years of experience Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Hours 7 am to 3.30 pm (Monday to Friday).
- This position requires flexibility in working hours due to the dynamic nature of supply chain operations.
- Interview 1 round interview onsite at Balcones Distillery (Waco) and need to wear Steel Toed shoes at site during interview slot
