Warehouse Operations Associate

Morrisville, North Carolina

About the Opportunity

Technical Source has partnered with a growing biotech manufacturing client in the Research Triangle to fill a Warehouse Operations Associate I role. Our client develops precision genetic medicines, applying genomics research to bring viral gene therapies to patients whose conditions have few, if any, current treatment options.

In this role, you'll keep the warehouse floor running day to day within a GMP-regulated setting — receiving, storing, and moving materials that support Manufacturing, Process Science, and the broader supply chain. Because inventory accuracy and material traceability are core to staying audit-ready, this position plays a direct role in the site's overall compliance posture. The Associate reports to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, storing them correctly per SOPs and GMP standards.
  • Handle day-to-day material flow — picking, staging, kitting, and issuing items to internal teams.
  • Keep inventory records current and accurate through timely system transactions.
  • Coordinate shipment scheduling with World Courier in support of Site Testing needs.
  • Participate in cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation efforts.
  • Store and label materials in line with temperature control, safety, and quality standards.
  • Help maintain documentation tied to receiving, issuing, and storing materials.
  • Flag inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or compliance issues to the appropriate team.
  • Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and ready for inspection at any time.
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing colleagues.
  • Contribute ideas and support for process improvements that boost efficiency and compliance.
  • Take on additional warehouse or project work as needed.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • 1–3 years in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory role.
  • Prior experience in a regulated or GMP setting is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control and material handling fundamentals.
  • A detail-oriented approach and a genuine commitment to data accuracy.
  • Comfortable following written SOPs and work instructions.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with standard computer applications and inventory management software.
  • Able to lift, push, or pull materials safely per site guidelines.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in cGMP warehousing at a biotech, pharma, or broader life sciences company.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP or inventory management platform (Coupa, SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar).
  • Certified on a forklift or other material handling equipment — or open to getting certified.
  • Has supported audits, inspections, or inventory-readiness efforts, whether as a participant or on the documentation side.
  • Well-organized and able to juggle several priorities at once.
  • Naturally looks for ways to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Has thrived in a fast-moving or startup-style environment.
