Warehouse Operator - Material Handling (1st Shift)

Warehouse Position

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Skills and Experience:

• 0–1 year of warehouse or related experience and/or training
• Basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area
• Basic knowledge of material handling and management, logistics, or manufacturing production
• General computer skills
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and team lead/supervisor
• Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, climbing, lifting, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting, and repetitive hand/finger movements
• Obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, and/or certifications as needed
• Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and vibration
• Ability to occasionally work in high, precarious places and around fumes/airborne particles
• Ability to work in hot summer conditions with no AC and cold winter conditions with limited heating
• Ability to work in a moderate to loud noise environment

Responsibilities:

• Use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse
• Maintain records as needed
• Apply basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps
• Work within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods
• Adhere to quality guidelines
• Work under general to limited supervision
• Perform material handling and management, logistics, and manufacturing production activities
• Operate in a metrics-driven environment
