Job Title: Warehouse Picker

Job Description

The Warehouse Picker plays a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient order fulfillment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position focuses on picking parts according to computer-generated pick lists and paperwork, inspecting components for quality, and maintaining precise records. The role is highly repetitive, requires strong attention to detail, and involves close collaboration with a small, experienced team on a daytime shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Pick parts correctly in a warehouse environment, following established procedures and standards.
  • Use the computer system and tablet to read pick lists, part numbers, and location IDs.
  • Identify various nuts, bolts, screws, washers, and other components by part number.
  • Locate and retrieve components from designated warehouse locations using information from the computer system.
  • Complete picking tasks accurately and efficiently to meet time standards for each order.
  • Visually inspect components for quality defects while picking and ensure only acceptable parts are selected.
  • Count and verify the correct quantities of components for each pick to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all required paperwork and labels documenting what was picked and in what quantities.
  • Use the computer system to log entries, update order status, and record completed tasks.
  • Perform repetitive picking and handling tasks throughout the shift while maintaining consistent accuracy.
  • Stand and move on your feet for the majority of the workday in a warehouse setting.
  • Use basic math skills to verify counts, quantities, and order information.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail when reading part numbers, labels, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate picking activities and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within a small team of pickers and the broader warehouse staff.
  • Operate manual material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks to move parts and orders.
  • Follow all company policies, including safety, anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, and timekeeping policies.
  • Adhere to established warehouse organization and structured daily workflows to keep picking operations running smoothly.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency using a tablet and basic computer systems to read pick lists, part numbers, and location IDs.
  • Ability to read and write in English to interpret instructions, labels, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurately identifying parts, verifying quantities, and spotting quality defects.
  • Basic math skills to count components and confirm order quantities.
  • Good eyesight to see defects and clearly read part numbers, labels, and information on screens and paperwork.
  • Ability to stand on your feet and perform repetitive tasks for an entire shift in a warehouse environment.
  • Capability to perform occasional heavy lifting as required by picking tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to work closely with a small team of pickers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Comfort working in a structured, organized environment with defined time standards and performance expectations.
  • Willingness to follow and uphold company policies related to safety, conduct, and timekeeping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Warehouse experience is helpful but not required; training is provided for candidates with the right aptitude.
  • Experience using RF scanners, tablets, or similar handheld devices in a work setting is an advantage.
  • General computer skills, including navigating basic software and data entry, are beneficial.
  • Ability to use hand trucks and pallet jacks safely to move materials around the warehouse.
  • Organized work style suited to a structured day and defined workflow.
  • Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility in meeting time standards and productivity goals.
  • Interest in long-term growth within operations, with potential future opportunities in areas such as production, customer service, or leadership roles.
  • No forklift experience required for this role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a South Seattle warehouse operating a daytime shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work as part of a small team of 3–4 pickers with strong tenure, in a structured and organized environment where daily tasks and time standards are clearly defined. Work involves standing for most of the day, performing repetitive picking tasks, and occasionally lifting heavier items. The warehouse uses computer systems, tablets, and RF scanners to manage pick lists and inventory, along with manual material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks. The facility supports a fast paced culture, with regular onsite leadership presence and open communication. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.30 - $21.30/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
