SUMMARY
Provide warehouse and logistics support and supervision, including shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, transportation coordination, property management, inventory control, and furniture storage services. Maintain accurate records, ensure secure storage and timely deliveries, and support the Division of Logistics & Commuter Services (DLCS) in compliance with CMS requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, inspect, document, and process incoming shipments; record discrepancies, upload receiving reports, and update inventory systems.
- Pick, pack, stage, prepare, and dispatch outbound shipments, including receiving bills of lading, confirming shipments through agency-approved systems, and maintaining shipment logs and tracking documentation.
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records in Sunflower, ServiceNow, GSA-PPMS, Warehouse Librarian, or equivalent systems; conduct cycle counts, annual physical inventories, reconciliations, and variance reporting.
- Receive, barcode, track, excess, sanitize, and dispose of government property in accordance with federal and agency policies.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse, dock, aisle, and storage areas while managing short- and long-term storage and related documentation.
- Transport government property between agency and off-site locations; provide packing, crating, labeling, shipping, freight staging, and material movement support to meet agency distribution requirements.
- Operate Microsoft Office Suite, PMIS (Sunflower), ServiceNow, Warehouse Librarian or equivalent systems, handheld scanners, and other government-furnished or contractor-provided software to maintain accurate records, submit required transactions, and ensure data integrity.
- Process, pick, pack, and ship publication orders using carousel systems and UPS WorldShip; restock inventory, generate shipping labels, maintain tracking records, reconcile shipping charges, and submit required reports.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, reach trucks, stretch wrap machines, pallet scales, and similar equipment; maintain required certifications, perform routine equipment inspections, and maintain maintenance and service logs.
- Provide qualified drivers; transport materials as needed; maintain driving, mileage, inspection, maintenance, service, and delivery records; assist the Agency Fleet Manager with vehicle coordination, scheduling, tracking, cleaning, and required driver training.
- Interview and hire new employees when an opening exists.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise up to 15 employees.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
- Must be able to pass a drug test prior to starting.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Five years experience supervising warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory management, transportation, or logistics support services.
- Experience with government property management, asset accountability, and inventory control.
- Experience using inventory and asset management systems.
- Experience supporting a federal government agency or government contractor.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
TRAVEL
The expected travel time is less than 25%.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and loading dock environment. The work area includes concrete flooring and may be drafty, noisy, dusty, and subject to varying temperatures. Employees operate warehouse equipment, hand and power tools, and powered material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, wrappers, and similar machinery. Work may be performed in warehouse, storage, dock, and agency facility locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements. Must be able to safely lift, carry, move, and position materials weighing up to 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Position requires operating warehouse equipment and material-handling machinery, as well as using hand and power tools. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are required for inventory management, equipment operation, documentation, and computer use. - Pay: $80,000-$100,000
