Description

Are you a safety leader passionate about building a culture of excellence and operational reliability? CJ Logistics America is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our Warehouse Operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be the heartbeat of our safety initiatives—from supporting training programs to leading incident prevention strategies across our facilities. If you have 5+ years of industrial safety experience and a drive to ensure every associate returns home safe at the end of the day, we invite you to help us maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.

    • Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000

    • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Safety Leadership and Compliance: Enforce safety programs (hazardous materials, battery charging, emergency response) and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and EPA regulations. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning. Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies and auditors.

    • Training & Safety Culture Development: Design and deliver training on forklift operations, powered industrial trucks, and lockout/tagout procedures. Coach associates to reinforce safe behaviors and facilitate safety committee meetings. Promote a proactive safety culture through communication and visible leadership.

    • Maintenance & Facility Reliability: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for material handling equipment (MHE) and facility infrastructure. Manage service providers, execute preventive maintenance schedules, and track equipment performance metrics to minimize downtime and safety risks.

    What we’re looking for

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

    • Experience: 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.

    • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and related regulatory requirements. Proficiency in incident investigation, auditing, and job hazard analysis. Familiarity with MHE maintenance and facility reliability programs.

    • Certifications: OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, or similar certifications are preferred.

    Work environment

    • Setting: This role operates in a warehouse  environment.

    • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders at various heights, use fine motor skills to operate equipment, and lift up to 10 pounds.

    • Environment Conditions: In the warehouse, you will be exposed to varying temperatures (including refrigerated areas), loud machinery, dust, and moving mechanical equipment. Proper PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, high-visibility vests) is required.

    • Schedule & Location: This role is on-site with occasional travel (up to 20%) to other facilities. Flexible hours may be required to support business needs.
