KMC Controls is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse/Shipping Associate to support the accurate and timely movement of products through our warehouse and shipping operations. The position supports shipping, receiving, inventory, and production by verifying materials and shipment information, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure customer orders are complete, protected, and shipped on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately according to sales orders, pick lists, work orders, and shipping requirements.
- Pack, seal, label, weigh, and stage products for shipment using approved packaging methods and customer or carrier requirements.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, revisions, lot or serial information, packaging, destination, and shipping details before movement or shipment.
- Prepare or verify shipping labels, packing lists, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation.
- Process shipments and inventory transactions accurately using approved shipping, barcode, inventory, and ERP systems.
- Receive, inspect, unload, sort, identify, label, and stock incoming materials, components, supplies, and returned products.
- Inspect inbound and outbound materials for damage, shortages, incorrect items, or other discrepancies and promptly report concerns.
- Deliver parts, materials, tools, supplies, and finished goods to production and other departments as needed to support workflow.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, stock rotation, inventory research, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, scanners, scales, packaging tools, and related warehouse equipment safely after required training and authorization.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe warehouse, stockroom, dock, aisle, staging, and shipping areas.
- Follow KMC safety, quality, security, inventory-control, ESD, documentation, and environmental procedures.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, carriers, and other team members to support daily schedules and resolve material or shipment concerns.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, order-fulfillment, inventory, or material-handling experience preferred but not required; equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Forklift or powered-industrial-truck experience or certification preferred; KMC will provide role-specific training and authorization as required.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, pick lists, packing slips, shipping labels, part identifiers, basic part prints, safety instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to verify item numbers, quantities, units of measure, locations, lot or serial information, and shipping details with consistent accuracy.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights, measurements, and counts used in warehouse activities.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn barcode scanners, shipping systems, inventory/ERP software, email, and standard office applications; Epicor experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, organization, and ability to manage changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Ability to safely use common warehouse and packaging equipment and recognize and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, inventory discrepancies, or shipment concerns.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, reach, grasp, scan, pack, and move materials.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
