Position Summary
A leading organization in food distribution is seeking an experienced Warehouse Site Manager to oversee all daily operations at a high-volume distribution facility in Chicago. Core Responsibilities
As Warehouse Site Manager, you will direct all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of food products. You'll supervise and mentor a team of warehouse associates, ensuring consistent performance against key metrics while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment. Your responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing daily warehouse activities to achieve productivity targets and maintain operational efficiency
  • Managing inventory accuracy through cycle counts, system audits, and reconciliation procedures
  • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards, HACCP protocols, and all regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating with logistics, procurement, and customer service departments to optimize workflows
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures and best practices for warehouse operations
  • Conducting safety training and maintaining OSHA compliance across all facility areas
  • Monitoring equipment maintenance schedules and troubleshooting operational issues
  • Analyzing performance data to identify improvement opportunities and cost-saving initiatives
  • Managing warehouse staffing levels, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Preparing reports on operational metrics, safety incidents, and inventory status for management review
  • Maintaining facility cleanliness and organization standards consistent with food industry regulations

Must-Have Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of warehouse management experience in a high-volume distribution environment
  • Proven track record managing teams of 15+ employees with excellent people management skills
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, FSMA, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for inventory and performance analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed productivity, safety, and quality targets
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekend or shift-based schedules as needed
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment

Preferred qualifications include experience in the food distribution sector, knowledge of cold chain management, and familiarity with logistics software platforms.
