SUMMARYMaintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing warehouse; supervising staff for 2nd shift operations. Maintains a safe and productive work environment whereby team has clear direction, goals, training and accountability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Lead and promote a culture of safety through observation, coaching, incident investigation, corrective actions, and adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.Sets the tone and expectations for daily activities using strong leadership skills and proper utilization of shift group leaders. Works closely with customer service to align resources to demand.Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.Orders consumable items in a manner that prevents stock outs without carrying excess inventory.Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.Maintains accurate inventory by conducting physical cycle counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.Secures warehouse and yard by turning alarms on; testing systems, monitoring cameras, enforcing policies.Keeps equipment operating well by enforcing proper operation, training and implementing suitable Operator level PM's, Supply detailed information on service requirements to maintenance; Tracking equipment uptime.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.Accomplishes warehouse and organization goals by developing, monitoring, and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, on-time shipping performance, equipment utilization, and customer service metrics.Measure and report on the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees' performanceAchieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods / services.Ensure shipments' and inventory transactions' accuracyClearly communicate job expectations, Conduct documented coaching, performance discussions, employee development planning, and succession planning activities.Determine staffing levels and assign workloadMaintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse statusIdentify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practicesConfer and coordinate activities with other departments or external resources such as plowing, pest control, pallet supplier and the like. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED required with some post-secondary education.3+ years prior supervisor or leadership experience requiredHighly effective supervisory skills and techniquesForklift experience preferredKnowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP (recommended), RF scanning technology, Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel), and data reporting tools.Ability to input, retrieve and analyze dataExperience with change management, results driven and safety drivenHands-on commitment to getting the job doneExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to direct and coordinate operationsLean Six Sigma and/or 5S experience preferredStrong organizational and time management skillsMust be able to work a 2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm Monday-FridayMust be able to work overtime based on business needs (i.e. working Saturdays, 50+ hours/week)This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily to our Garland, TX facility PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
