Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and employee supervision. Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and employee supervision. This role ensures the efficient flow of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies to support manufacturing operations and customer delivery requirements.
The Warehouse Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to warehouse personnel, promotes a safe work environment, maintains inventory accuracy, and drives operational efficiency while supporting company goals for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure timely and accurate movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Coordinate material transfers between warehouse and production departments.
- Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain organized warehouse locations and storage systems.
- Ensure compliance with shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or concerns to management.
- Ensure proper material identification, labeling, and storage practices.
- Support ERP and inventory management system accuracy.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments.
- Verify accuracy of incoming materials and outgoing orders.
- Coordinate carrier scheduling and transportation logistics.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Support customer delivery requirements and on-time shipment goals.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse associates.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
- Address employee concerns and maintain positive employee relations.
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct warehouse safety inspections and training.
- Ensure proper operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-miss events.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
- Implement process improvements that reduce waste and increase operational effectiveness.
- Track and report warehouse performance metrics.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management practices.
- Experience using ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in plastics, injection molding, or manufacturing operations.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
