Warehouse Supervisor

Location: NW Indy


Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our client s Operations team on the NW side of Indy. In this hands-on leadership role, you ll oversee daily warehouse activities in a temperature-controlled environment, driving safety, efficiency, accuracy, and outstanding customer service while developing and inspiring your team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership by coordinating daily workflows, prioritizing tasks, and allocating labor to meet operational goals and customer demands.
  • Act as a visible, approachable leader who builds positive team relationships and reinforces a strong company culture.
  • Participate in talent decisions including hiring, promotions, performance management, and terminations, partnering with HR and senior leadership as needed.
  • Manage scheduling, timecards, time-off requests, and overtime approvals to ensure optimal staffing.
  • Lead safety efforts by responding to incidents and near-misses, conducting investigations, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, and individual performance; conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, Good Warehousing Practices, customer SOPs, and inventory accuracy to keep the facility inspection-ready at all times.
  • Serve as the liaison between warehouse staff and other departments, coordinating closely with shipping and receiving to manage dock operations, trailer movements, and pallet flows.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to assign tasks, direct inventory, resolve exceptions, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges, act as the escalation point for issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quick resolutions.
  • Jump in to perform Warehouse Associate or Lead duties as business needs require.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; 2+ years of college or 2 3 years of team lead/supervisor experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous warehouse supervision experience, ideally in food-grade or temperature-controlled environments.
  • Proficiency with radio frequency (RF) systems, warehouse applications, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, decision-making, and mathematical skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a customer-first mindset.

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to regularly bend and lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Comfort working in temperatures ranging from +50 F to -30 F.
  • Capable of standing/walking for extended periods, performing overhead lifts, and operating warehouse equipment (scanners, tablets, radios, computers, etc.).
  • Valid driver s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Strong vision, hearing, and communication skills essential for safety and productivity.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and additional hours as needed for production demands, projects, or special events.
