Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate inventory handling, and timely order fulfillment. This role directly supervises warehouse staff, enforces safety standards, and supports operational goals through hands-on leadership.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control
Lead and direct warehouse associates, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring
Ensure accuracy of inventory through cycle counts and proper system transactions
Maintain productivity standards and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and development
Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors
Resolve operational issues and escalate concerns as needed
Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
3+ years of warehouse or distribution experience
1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Prolonged periods of standing.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.
