Position Title: Supervisor, Warehouse

Primary Duty:OverviewThe Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate shipment of manufactured parts. This role supervises and coordinates warehouse employees, maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards while optimizing workflow and resolving logistical challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shipping & Logistics Management:
  • Oversee outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and product integrity.
  • Generate and maintain shipping documentation.
  • Schedule truck lines for same-day shipping and coordinate docking locations with warehouse personnel.
  • Communicate with customers to address and resolve shipping discrepancies.
  • Warehouse Operations & Safety:
  • Inspect warehouse and equipment to uphold safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and necessary repairs for forklifts and other equipment.
  • Coordinate load inspections and quality assurance checks with the production team.
  • Develop container modifications to optimize shipping processes.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination:
  • Directly supervise three employees and provide oversight for six additional employees across second and third shifts.
  • Plan, assign, and evaluate work while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees, as well as provide performance feedback and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align warehouse activities with overall facility operations.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns, including responding to union grievances.
  • Administrative & Reporting Duties:
  • Prepare and maintain daily shipping schedules based on customer orders.
  • Generate and analyze shipping efficiency reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required, with some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing environment focused on inventory and materials handling.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, and technical documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and inventory management software.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including calculating percentages, areas and volumes
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions using logical reasoning.
  • Familiarity with EPA and DOT regulations, particularly waste management guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and perform keyboard tasks for extended periods.
  • Occasional need to climb, balance or lift up to 10 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to production areas.
  • May be exposed to moving machinery, hazardous chemicals, or varying weather conditions.
  • Noise levels are generally quiet but may vary depending on location.
