Opportunity Summary:

This position has responsibility for all aspects of distribution center product receiving functions. Position will have duties that ensure the accuracy of inbound product received, all data entry into the Warehouse Management System and JDE 9.1, and various steps in the quality assurance processes. This position is also responsible for directing and coordinating workload, planning and carrying out all supervisory duties for all associates in the inbound department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Direct / Coordinate receiving coordinator(s) and warehouse associate workdays.
  • Ensure all safety standards are upheld by Warehouse Associates and all equipment is in good working order.
  • Enforce all Quality standards, including food quality and DQPM guidelines.
  • Coach, mentor and guide Warehouse Associates to meet standards of work.
  • Suggests and help implement improvements to operational processes.
  • Monitor workforce requirements to minimize labor expenses.
  • Communicate and enforce work rule changes.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to associates pertaining to associate relations issues, enforcement of Company policies, procedures and applicable employment laws.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of backhaul scheduling. This will include scheduling appointments with the vendors, scheduling and closing out of loads on Mercury Gate, reporting appointment times to transportation, and scheduling of all backhauls in JD Edwards.
  • Can release rail cars, monitor potential demurrage charges by checking release dates in the system, understand and review the rail report to monitor inbound loads, and enter data into the KPI report.
  • Follow DQMP inbound check in guidelines for all live unload/drop trailer appointments and direct carriers to appropriate dock doors and ensure all associates are following proper protocol for all check-ins and receipts.
  • Ensure all receiving appointments are in line with established receiving guidelines and printed schedules are generated accurately for the following day.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System reporting to aid in daily maintenance of product code dates, proper rotation, slot locations and inventory adjustments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
What You'll Bring:
  • Education – High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience – 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training in Engineered Labor Management or Warehouse Management.
  • Other Required Skills or Abilities – Technical skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point), engineered labor standards and systems, voice selection technology (Lucas), JD Edwards, managerial/leadership skills, safety management, process management, inventory control, analyzing information, equipment and facility maintenance.
