POSITION SUMMARY

The warehouse supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of receiving, storing, and issuing materials to the site. They will lead the team, manage inventory accuracy, and enforce all safety protocols and standards to maintain a productive, compliant facility. They will be the strategic interface with maintenance, planning, and operations so that the warehouse can supply the materials needed to operate and maintain the site.

This will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, putting workers' safety as a top priority. Track and account for all incoming and outgoing material and their value. Perform various inventory counts, order supplies and goods as needed. Ensure processes are in place to support and meet the End Users (customer) requirements. Maintain warehouse machinery, ensuring equipment is serviced and maintain a clean warehouse. The incumbent will also oversee the warehouse and inventory management functions and assist in the hiring and training process of new warehouse staff.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) / Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain/Purchasing/Logistics, Business, Accounting or Technical Fields is preferred. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5+ years of experience in warehouse / maintenance / procurement environment required
  • 3+ years supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Able to motivate staff and manage team performance
  • Foster a stakeholder focused disposition within the team
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, a computerized inventory management system, such as Oracle, Maximo, etc. required
  • Proficiency with warehouse management tools (barcode scanners, label printers, etc.) and proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) required
  • Experience and understanding of inventory stocking level evaluation process
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted ethical purchasing policies and procedures
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to meet business needs
  • Fluent in English, oral and written, required
  • Effective communicator and negotiator in terms of both verbal and written skills

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Process and review requisitions for plant material and warehouse restocking
  • Oversee daily activities and assign duties of warehouse staff
  • Arrange, oversee, coordinate and track all outbound freight traffic for the warehouse
  • Interface directly with supervisors and managers to keep current with the concerns of various plant departments
  • Direct and ensure inspection and expediting activities when needed
  • Be available 24/7 for plant emergencies
  • Review data entry of new warehouse stock items. Ensure compliance with process
  • Identify and manage obsolete stock disbursement process
  • Review invoices for plant material for entry into Maximo / Oracle payable system
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
  • Interface with plant accounting and support monthly expense reporting
  • Coordinate plant equipment rental programs.
  • Schedule periodic reviews with contract material providers to communicate acceptable performance levels and immediately address any service or quality issues
  • For value and restocking levels, supervise warehouse materials management function to include receiving, storage, disbursement, and inventory analysis
  • For outages and turnarounds, schedule and coordinate expanded work hours to ensure warehouse coverage
  • Participate, plan and execute material and equipment acquisition for turnarounds and plant outages
  • Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Effective communication with maintenance department to ensure efficient and timely repairs and maintenance to plant equipment
  • Manage efficient, cost-effective material management of the warehouse
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure ethical conduct and SOX compliance in all activities
  • Manage warehouse staff who are appropriately trained and motivated to achieve desired objectives
  • Active team player, available for plant emergencies as required
  • Continual improved storage space utilization of spare parts and a clean, safe, organized, well maintained facility
