The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for facilitating the daily operations of the warehouse team, ensuring efficient and accurate distribution of goods. This role will motivate the team, maintain inventory control, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. This is a working Team Lead position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates to meet daily productivity and quality goals.
Coordinate and prioritize warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping products.
Ensure the safe, accurate, and timely handling of goods in accordance with company procedures.
Locate and Load product on truck, inspecting, labeling and reworking product as it is being loaded on trailers.
Ensure that all orders are shipped accurately and safely.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock replenishment, and perform regular stock checks.
Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Enforce safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Provide feedback to team members and offer solutions for improvement.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., logistics, customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily activity logs, inventory reports, and performance metrics.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Assist in the planning and execution of special projects, such as seasonal peaks or inventory audits.n empty job that is used for creating requisitions 'from scratch'
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in a warehouse environment.
Forklift certification and experience is required..
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehouse management or logistics is a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, lift, move and/or carry up to 50lbs.
Ability to frequently reach overhead.
Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
