Job Summary:

The Warehouse Technician I is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse activities. This role involves managing inventory, fulfilling orders, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The incumbent will work closely with warehouse staff to support daily operations and to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Receives and verifies all incoming shipments of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures the accuracy of incoming orders against purchase orders.
  • Accurately tracks inventory levels, conducts regular stock checks, and assists with inventory audits.
  • Updates inventory records and reports discrepancies to management.
  • Picks, packs, and prepares products for shipment based on order specifications.
  • Ensures all orders are shipped accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Performs routine checks and/or maintenance on equipment and reports any issues to management.
  • Inspects incoming and outgoing products for quality and accuracy.
  • Reports any damaged or defective products to t management and accurately document findings.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Demonstrates consistent, appropriate, and accurate use of the ERP system inventory management tools.
  • Maintains accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and receipts.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assists in the training of new employees in learning and performing warehouse operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in warehouse operations is a plus.
  • Experience of general warehouse practices or an inventory role is preferred.
  • Maintains a basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management. Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items as needed. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily in a warehouse setting, with potential exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations. Minimal travel required, primarily local.

Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) standing, walking and use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending and squatting; occasional (0-33% of workday) sitting; ability to lift 35 lbs; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills, to include peripheral vision.

Mental Requirements: Ability to multi-task, prioritize work. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
