Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily warehouse operations for our window and door distribution and installation business. This position is responsible for ensuring products are received, stored, staged, and shipped accurately and efficiently while leading a team of approximately
5–10 warehouse employees.Because our warehouse supports both customers and installation crews, this role requires someone who can balance strong operational discipline with excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, solving problems, and holding their team accountable for accuracy, safety, and productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations- Manage the day-to-day operation, organization, cleanliness, and safety of the warehouse.
- Maintain an organized inventory and storage system for windows, doors, accessories, installation materials, and related products.
- Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, protected, and easily located.
- Coordinate the staging of materials for customer pickups, deliveries, and installation crews.
- Maintain an efficient warehouse layout and continuously look for opportunities to improve workflow and productivity.
- Ensure products are handled carefully to minimize damage.
Inbound & Outbound Shipping- Coordinate and oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documentation.
- Inspect incoming products for shortages, incorrect items, and freight or product damage.
- Document and communicate receiving discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure outgoing orders are complete, accurate, properly staged, and ready on schedule.
- Coordinate with drivers, vendors, installation teams, sales staff, and customers regarding pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
Team Leadership- Directly supervise, train, and develop a team of approximately 5–10 warehouse employees.
- Assign daily responsibilities and establish clear priorities for the warehouse team.
- Monitor employee productivity, accuracy, attendance, and safety.
- Coach employees and address performance issues when necessary.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, organization, and customer service.
- Ensure employees follow established warehouse procedures and safety requirements.
Customer & Installation Support- Assist with resolving customer questions, order discrepancies, damaged products, and pickup issues.
- Communicate effectively with sales, operations, installation teams, and other departments.
- Ensure installation crews receive the correct products and materials needed for scheduled jobs.
- Help resolve product or material issues quickly to prevent delays to customer installations.
Qualifications- Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Experience in windows, doors, building materials, construction products, distribution, or a related industry strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and hold employees accountable.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, drivers, and installation crews.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly when shipping, inventory, or customer issues arise.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory, warehouse, and order-management systems.
- Forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements- Ability to work in an active warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and safely lift and move warehouse materials.
- Comfortable working around large, heavy, and fragile window and door products.
- Ability to safely operate or work around forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
