Job Description Summary

               

Operate industrial forklift and industrial equipment to receive, store, and distribute products within the Cold Storage facility.

Job Description

  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas with an industrial truck.
  • Sort and place items on racks in freezer according to predetermined sequence such as size, type or product code
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms with a powered lift
  • Stack case goods on pallet by hand
  • Wrap partial pallets of cases by hand with stretch wrap
  • Mark materials with identifying information with a label or marker
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Count items for distribution
  • Compile tickets from customer specifications
  • Inspect trailers for cleanliness or condition.
  • Drive industrial truck to transport stored items from warehouse to plant and from warehouse to truck or railcar
  • Load and unload trailers according to work orders with a powered lift
  • Load railcars according to specifications with a powered lift
  • Help maintain inventory records by making sure transfers and changes are recorded accurately
  • Actively engage in safety, participate in safety programs, safety activities, and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety of other team members.Report all incidents, near misses, and any safety concerns.
  • Ability to learn and operate RFID handheld scanner for use on a constant basis to receive/ship product, check inventory levels, and other tasks as assigned. Communicate with others to coordinate material handling or movement.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Actively participate in Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs.

  • Ability to read and write in English, preferred.
  • Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Ability to use arms and/or legs together while sitting and standing.
  • Ability to react quickly to change the controls of an industrial truck by moving hand and/or foot.

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Ability to frequently lift up/or move to 30 pounds, occasionally lift/or move 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of twisting torso while sitting/ driving on a powered lift forwards and in reverse.
  • Ability to tolerate driving over rough terrain on an intermediate basis.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under warehouse bays and/or racks.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and to non-verbally communicate through hand gestures and non-verbal signaling techniques.
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally to frequently climb on and off an industrial truck.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
  • Ability to operate work related equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to tolerate strobe and other intense lighting such as bright white/blue lights, red RFID scanner light on handhelds.

  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards
  • Exposure to manufacturing and warehousing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, smells and allergens.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
