Job Objective
This position is responsible for operation of the donation center.
Essential Functions
Perform and supervise the sorting of donations. Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor. Bale clothing using baling equipment. Move materials using a forklift as needed. Unload materials and load bales onto truck. Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
Education High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Warehouse and forklift operation.
Certifications Licenses Class E operators license forklift certification obtained within 90-days of employment.
Skills Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors, and volunteers. Ability to operate warehouse equipment including but not limited to baler and forklift. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Supervisory Responsibility Volunteers as directed by supervisor.
Physical Requirements
Include speaking, hearing, and vision excellent manual dexterity lifting, pulling, and pushing materials weighing 50 pounds or more bending, squatting, and walking standing for extended periods of time. Travel
Driving Driving is required. Must possess a valid drivers license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment.
