Position Summary:

Performs warehouse and logistics operations including receiving, storing, handling, and distributing materials and products. The role also involves hazardous waste handling, regulatory compliance, order fulfillment, and supporting production as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, store, and distribute materials and products.
  • Load and unload dry vans and tank trucks; verify and inspect incoming shipments for damage.
  • Handle hazardous waste activities, including:
    • Generating, inspecting, storing, and managing hazardous waste.
    • Responding to spills and incidents per emergency plans.
    • Preparing and maintaining records (manifests, inspection logs, waste determinations, reports).
  • Read production orders and perform material drumming, tote filling, washing, labeling, and repacking of liquids.
  • Transport materials between receiving, production, storage, and staging areas.
  • Assemble and stage customer orders; verify paperwork, labeling, placards, and container markings.
  • Process picking tickets and ensure order accuracy.
  • Operate forklift for moving materials and shipments.
  • Perform daily forklift inspections.
  • Manage inbound and outbound freight (common carriers and inter-branch).
  • Inspect customer pickup vehicles for DOT compliance.
  • Ensure all shipments are secured according to DOT requirements.
  • Meet customer delivery requirements (stenciling, COAs, MSDS, etc.).
  • Maintain warehouse and yard.
  • Assist in production operations as needed.

Qualifications:

                Required

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 1–3 years of related experience or training.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Basic language skills:
    • Read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos.
    • Write simple communications.
    • Communicate effectively in small group or one-on-one settings.
  • Basic math skills:
    • Perform arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
    • Understand ratios, percentages, and simple graphs.
  • Reasoning ability:
    • Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
    • Solve problems with limited variables in standardized situations.

                Preferred

  • Experience in hazardous waste handling or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and shipping compliance.
  • Warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to:
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Outdoor weather conditions
    • Wet and humid environments
  • Occasional exposure to:
    • High or precarious places
    • Fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Vibration
  • Noise level:
    • Typically moderate with occasional loud noise

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, and use of hands.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling.
  • Lifting requirements:
    • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds
    • Frequently lift over 100 pounds
    • Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
  • Vision requirements:
    • Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
    • Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
