Advance Distribution Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Furniture Warehouse Loader / Unloader to assist with the loading, unloading, handling, and organization of boxed furniture and freight. 


This position involves physically moving furniture using a 2-wheel dolly (hand truck) and by hand. The employee must be able to safely handle furniture of various sizes and weights while maintaining an organized and damage-free warehouse environment. 


Essential Job Duties 

• Load and unload boxed furniture from trailers.
• Use a 2-wheel dolly/hand truck to safely move furniture throughout the warehouse.
• Move furniture from trailers to designated warehouse locations.
• Move furniture from warehouse locations to trailers for outbound shipments.
• Properly stack, position, and secure furniture to help prevent damage.
• Verify freight is placed in the correct staging or loading area.
• Inspect furniture and packaging for visible damage and report any issues to a supervisor.
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse and loading dock.
• Follow proper lifting, loading, unloading, and material-handling procedures.
• Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
• Assist other warehouse employees as needed.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position. Employees must be able to:
 

• Regularly lift, push, pull, and maneuver boxed furniture.
• Safely operate a 2-wheel dolly while moving furniture.
• Bend, reach, squat, twist, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Work inside trailers and warehouse loading areas.
• Perform repetitive physical work throughout the scheduled shift.

Qualifications
 

• Previous warehouse, furniture handling, loading, or unloading experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely use a 2-wheel dolly/hand truck.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Careful handling of customer freight to minimize damage.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse, loading dock, and inside freight trailers. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures depending on weather conditions and the work area.
