Job Description: This position will serve as a QED Warehousing and Logistics Specialist for a U.S. Navy contract. This position supports the Carrier Unique Equipment Staging Facility in Norfolk, VA maintaining inventory information, providing monthly material status reports, and receiving/issuing material. This position also may include forklift operations.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing logistics and material management services for aircraft carrier unique equipment, material receipt, inventory control, segregation, packaging, storage, crating, and issuing support in accordance with Government procedures.
- Fluent in the use of Microsoft Products.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience researching material for correct and appropriate material identification and part numbers, NSN(s) and Allowance Parts Lists (APLs). This research shall include use of Government Furnished Software USA-2, Weapons System File, and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) records to ensure correct material is identified.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience maintaining a systematic and orderly locating system to facilitate inventory, receipt processing, and issue to ensure immediate issue of most material (i.e., fast moving items can be located quickly) and a maximum utilization of available space consistent with protection of material in storage.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience maintaining liaison with Naval Inactive Ships to maintain accountability of critical aircraft carrier system components and familiarity with Fleet Support team liaison.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience arranging and managing various material procurements, related documents, and shipments for materials delivered to ships and various Department of Defense (DOD) activities including installing activities.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience expediting material movement and maintaining complete records from inception of requisitions to material delivery to end user.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience transferring unusable equipment to turn-in point and maintain a hardcopy file of the signed transfer documents (i.e., DD Form 1149, DD form 1348, etc.).
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience maintaining procurement and shipping documents, records, contracts, and receipts.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience monitoring status of incoming shipments and informing senior management of receipt of new and also of any slippages, delays or other problems with incoming or outgoing shipments.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship and the ability to meet and maintain eligibility for a U.S. SECRET Clearance is required. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
