This Business Development Representative role drives new business for an employee-owned material handling and warehouse automation provider in Kansas City, MO. The Business Development Representative identifies prospects, qualifies leads, and builds relationships that fuel the sales pipeline. This entry-level sales position offers hands-on training and a clear path into a full sales career.

Key Responsibilities – Business Development Representative
Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and social selling to generate qualified leads
Follow up on marketing-generated leads and qualify prospects using discovery questions
Research target industries, competitors, and market trends to identify new business opportunities
Build and maintain prospect lists aligned with target markets and buyer personas
Update CRM records with prospect activity while collaborating with marketing and sales teams
Qualifications – Business Development Representative
Minimum one year of related work experience in sales, customer service, or business development
Self-starter with a hunter mentality and strong critical-thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cold calling and email outreach
Strong research, prospecting, and organizational skills; ability to manage time across multiple accounts
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for periodic client travel (~25%)
Preferred Qualifications – Business Development Rep
Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field
Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce, HubSpot, or ZoomInfo
Physical Requirements – Business Development Representative
Primarily sedentary work in an on-site office environment, with periodic field travel
Extended periods of sitting and computer/phone use, plus time in a vehicle while traveling
Full-time, on-site schedule based in Kansas City, MO, standard business hours
Approximately 25% travel required for client visits and site meetings; valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Occasional light lifting of marketing or presentation materials, up to 15 lbs
