Waste Treatment Operator - 2nd Shift

Standard Job Description

This role supports Lockheed Martin Aeronautics operations at Air Force Plant #4 by ensuring wastewater and hazardous waste is properly disposed of.

Waste treatment operator A role supports the plant in a number of ways. They are responsible for treating industrial waste water according to our pretreatment permit. Mixing and pouring chemicals to charge chemical process lines. Operate vacuum trucks to remove oily waste water and performing emergency spill cleanups as required.

This position is an hourly represented position. Overtime is available. Position does not require travel. Position will likely be on second shift.

Common tasks include:

Operate Ion Exchange System per standard operating instructions. Check regeneration or resins by measuring specific gravity with hydrometer. Check quality of rinse water with conductivity and/or pH meters.

Perform emergency chemical spill response and spill cleanup activities as required.

Operates powered industrial vehicles including tugs, forklifts, and vacuum trucks to transport chemicals, hazardous waste materials and waste metal sludges throughout the site.

Proper discharge of wastewater according to permit and relevant regulations.

Basic Qualifications

Must have one semester of college chemistry.

Must be able to pass full physical and be able to wear a full face respirator.

Experience with powered industrial vehicles.

Experience with mixing and pouring of hazardous chemicals.

Experience with operating a pH and conductivity meter.

Desired Skills

40 hour HAZWOPR Training

Experience with wastewater operations.

Mechanical maintenance experience.

Chemical Processing experience.

Pay Information

• $34.38 - $56.22
