Responsibilities include:Operating a wastewater analysis laboratoryMaintaining wastewater collection and pre-treatment systemsOperating and maintaining full wastewater treatment systemsCollecting samples for analysis in compliance with EPA, state, and health department regulationsPerforming chemical analyses both in and out of the laboratoryAdjusting systems based on chemical analysis results to ensure regulatory compliancePerforming mathematical calculations using basic algebra and a calculatorCompleting computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reports required by permits, state authorities, EPA, or corporate managementUtilizing basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skillsCommunicating operational status to upper managementMaintaining operations logsPerforming maintenance on equipment, operating a spotter truck and/or forkliftGroundskeeping, painting, and general housekeepingPerforming other duties as neededREQUIREMENTS:Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: 1+ years of wastewater experience preferredComputer Skills: Basic skills with knowledge of Word and ExcelCommunication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are criticalCertification:Must complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty daysMust complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve monthsMust obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with state regulationsOther Requirements:Valid driver's licenseRequired to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facilityMust meet and maintain minimum qualification levels as required by state regulationsPhysical Requirements:Lifting heavy objects (50-75 pounds)Climbing and/or descending stairs or laddersWorking in unsanitary conditions and with hazardous chemicalsSupervisory: NoneTravel: 1 to 2 trips per yearPlease attach a resume with your application.Relocation Assistance Eligible:NoWork Shift:1ST SHIFT (United States of America)Hourly Applicants ONLY -You must complete the task after submitting your application to provide additional information to be considered for employment.Tyson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
