OverviewThe Opportunity Gemini Water is seeking a dynamic and solutions-oriented Wastewater Process Engineer for their Gainesville office to support the design, implementation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems across a range of projects, including remote and international locations. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both technical design and hands-on involvement in project execution. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery from concept through commissioning and operational support.ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize wastewater treatment processes, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment systems (e.g., activated sludge, MBR, MBBR, filtration, disinfection)Support the development of process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, and technical specificationsContribute to the implementation and deployment of packaged and decentralized treatment systemsProvide hands-on support during installation, commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting of treatment systemsConduct process modeling, analysis, and troubleshooting to improve system performanceParticipate in pilot studies, commissioning, and start-up of treatment systemsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure successful project delivery on time and within scopeProvide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operational phasesInterface with clients to understand operational needs and provide practical, fit-for-purpose solutionsEnsure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, standards, and client requirements across different jurisdictionsPrepare technical reports, proposals, and documentationContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation within water and wastewater treatment processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of five plus (5+) years of experience in wastewater treatment process design and/or operations or commissioningStrong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, particularly biological systems (e.g., activated sludge, MBR, MBBR)Experience with decentralized or packaged treatment systems is an assetAbility to physically implement designsExperience with process modeling tools and engineering design software is an assetDemonstrated ability to support both design and field execution (commissioning, troubleshooting, start-up)Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and industry standardsStrong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach to engineering challengesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teamsExperience in industrial or remote water treatment projects is considered an assetProfessional Engineer (PE) designation or eligibility is preferredFamiliarity with environmental regulations and standards across different regions is an assetWillingness and ability to travel, including extended periods away from your normal workplace and to project sites in remote or international locations, as requiredDemonstrates a proven track record of adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environmentPossession of a valid driver\'s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a valid U.S. passportAbout Gemini WaterGemini Water, a BluMetric Company, founded in 2015, brings over a decade of experience delivering advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions for remote and challenging environments.
