Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Three years of experience in the design, construction or management of construction projects to include one year managing water and/or wastewater utility construction projects are required. A license in any of the following may substitute for the required education: State of Florida Professional Engineer license, State of Florida Registered Architect license, State of Florida or Miami-Dade County General Contractors certificate, General Building Contractor or General Engineering Contractors certificate or Certificate of Eligibility in General Engineering or General Building.

This supervisory position includes advance and independent work in the construction management of water and sewer infrastructure. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for overseeing mid-large scale capital construction projects. Employees in this class are responsible for authorizing and monitoring the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in the design and construction of a variety of water and wastewater plant equipment and facilities, pipelines, sewer mains, pump stations and related Water and Sewer infrastructure. Emphasis of the work in on the management of various projects through all phases of development including planning, consultant selection, design management, selection of contractor, construction management, inspection, and warranty administration. Incumbents exercise independent judgment in the application of the principles and practices of architectural planning, design, construction, and related engineering knowledge.
