Water Distribution Crew Foreman Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hourJob Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7AM - 3:30PMPay Frequency: Weekly Job Summary The Water Distribution Crew Foreman is responsible for directing daily field operations for water utility construction and maintenance projects. This position leads a crew of skilled tradespeople while maintaining hands-on involvement in the work, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable regulations. The Foreman serves as the primary point of contact between the field crew and project management. Primary Jobsite Locations: Montgomery County, MD | Prince George's County, MD Secondary Jobsite Locations: Northern Virginia | Washington, DC Key Responsibilities Lead and direct crew members on water utility construction and repair activities, including: - Water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, and related appurtenances
- Plan and organize daily work tasks, manpower scheduling, and equipment deployment
- Assign tasks to crew members and ensure proper execution of work methods and safety practices
- Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, trench safety standards, and company policies
- Establish and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control and excavation safety
- Read, interpret, and communicate plans, utility maps, and job specifications to the crew
- Proactively identify and resolve jobsite issues; escalate to project management as needed
- Monitor work quality and production goals; report daily progress to project management
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members at all skill levels
- Coordinate with inspectors, clients, and utility representatives in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate daily field reports, time records, and material usage logs
- Perform skilled labor tasks and operate equipment as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times
Certifications (Preferred or Required) - WSSC Tapping Certification (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 or 30 (Preferred)
- Trench Safety / Competent Person (Preferred)
- Confined Space Entry (Preferred)
- First Aid / CPR (Preferred)
