Job Description
Directs the technical inspections, maintenance, and repair of the Citys water production system. Responsible for the administration and technical operations of programs, activities, and functions related to the construction, extension, inspection, operation, and maintenance of the wastewater collection, water production system.
Consults and takes direction from the Assistant Water/Wastewater Superintendent or Water/Wastewater Superintendent but exercises independent judgment in accomplishing the work and developing new programs and is held accountable for results.

Starting Pay: $20.79 per hour - DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent GED • Four (4) years of experience in collections, construction, maintenance, and operation of ground water wells, pumps, SCADA water transmission lines, and water storage tanks • A valid New Mexico Water Production Operator Certification Level 2 or above • Certification through reciprocity shall be acceptable within 90 days of hire.
Two (2) years in technical lead capacity • Level II NMED Certification in Water Production Systems at time of hire • Level III NMED Certification in Water Production Systems within one year of hire
Graduate from an accredited two-year Public Wastewater Systems or Wastewater Technology program with a Level III certification may be substituted for supervisory experience.
Valid drivers license, state of residence must meet citys insurability requirements.
