Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Project Supervisor to add to our Water Project Team located in Bridgeport, NJ. The Water Supervisor operates on site supervising crews of Environmental Technicians as necessary at various water project sites. This position will also be helping with upcoming water construction projects based in New Jersey. This position requires travel to the CONUS and/or globally as needed.

Estimated Total Compensation:
  • $90,000 - $140,000 annually.

Compensation Breakdown:
  • Base Hourly Pay: $26-32/HR DOE.
  • Overtime (Not Guaranteed): Opportunities for 10-20+ hours per week based on project needs.
  • Per Diem: $55+/day while traveling (7 days a week).

Work Schedule: 
The typical work schedule is 6+ weeks on the road and then 1-week home.

Location: East Coast locations preferred. All other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Supervises multiple employees on water projects.
  • Assures all associated paperwork as required for operations is maintained and submitted immediately after project operations have been completed.
  • Ensures that supervised operations staff meets all compliance standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental studies preferred.
  • Experience working with water treatment, building filtrations systems, working in wastewater treatment plants highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Water certifications are a plus.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations.
  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis.
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemicals preferred.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).
  • All other duties as required by Management.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching in confined spaces; Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more (with or without lenses); Requires sitting for extended periods.  Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including levels A,B,C,D & E, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion.
  • Available for 24/day on‐call basis.
  • Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English.
  • Position involves strenuous physical exertion.  Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs.
