As a Water Resources Project Manager your responsibilities will include design and overall management of drainage studies, storm drainage system design, flood studies, stormwater management, and erosion control design.Essential FunctionsManage various mid-large sized transportation projects related to water resources, drainage, stormwater management design (SWM) for various agencies such as: NCDOT, City of Charlotte and related countiesManage and mentor a team of entry-mid level professional engineers, EI/EIT's, and DesignersSupport business development efforts by contributing to proposals, bids, RFPs and utilizing current projects/customersDesign and analysis of storm drainage systemsDesign and analysis of Stormwater Control Measures (SCM)Design of Sediment and Erosion Control Best Management Practices (BMP)Preparation of environmental permit drawingsRequired Skills and Experience4-year degree from an ABET accredited civil/environmental engineering program (or related program)Eight (8) + years of water resources design experienceNorth Carolina Professional Engineer license required (P.E.)Working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulics principalsProficiency communicating technical information with staff and clientsAble to work closely with other design disciplines to determine most practical solutionsExperience with common CAD and water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMMExperience with public stormwater and storm drainage projectsPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience completing stormwater/storm drainage projects in the City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County regionExperience managing engineering design and productionOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
