Manage swimming pool activities. Insure compliance with operating policies, instructions, safety rules and swimming practices. Acts as water safety instructor and lifeguard, instructs beginners in swimming; gives life-saving instructions as required. Supervises and instructs in the proper use and maintenance of pool equipment including water testing.Checksconditionofshowersandbathroomsadoutsideareas;insuresthatallareasare maintainedinaneatandsanitarycondition;makesnotesofconditionoffacilitiesandreportsto supervisor. Checkspremisesforfirehazardsandensuresthatfacilityissecuredatclosingtime.Ensures staff remains current with certifications. Performsotherrelateddutiesas assigned. Mustpossessandmaintainthefollowingcertifications:Lifeguarding,Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer; Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and First Aid; (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis); and the American Red Cross; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certificate.
