Position Summary:The Water treatment/Acidulation operator is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Superintendent of Operations and Operations Supervisors. The Water treatment/Acidulation operator is accountable and responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor both systems in a timely manner while still running efficiently.
  • Understand, or have the ability to learn the required operation of the Water treatment/Acidulation process.
  • Processes water samples from the boilers, cooling tower and Water treatment area utilizing lab equipment.
  • Monitors and adjusts operations to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Transfers process chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Communicating with operators and supervision to address the needs for Acidulation tank space, to avoid impacting refinery operation.
  • Keeping inventory in order as needed to keep a healthy system.
  • Learn processing controls using a computerized system.
  • Participate in audits, ensuring all areas are audit ready at all times.
  • Complete all personal required safety trainings.
  • Operate forklift as needed after proper training/certification.
  • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures and forms.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Learn and maintain proper use of personal protection equipment (P.P.E.).
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely as assigned to the shift.
  • Participate in all audits, ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all times.
  • Follow all safety rules and requirements, attending safety meetings, and tailgates.
  • Other duties as directed or required.

Position Requirements:

  • Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as directed by management.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate to co-workers and management.
  • Must be flexible to work rotating shifts. (1 Month Day Shift, 1 Month Swing Shift, 1 Month Night Shift)

Qualifications:

  • Must be or willing to become forklift operator certified.
  • 3-5 years of processing equipment operations experience.
  • Intermediate level in general computer applications use
