Overview
JEA is recruiting for engineers with a Professional Engineering License to support the planning, modeling, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure. This role is ideal for civil, environmental, mechanical, or stormwater engineers with transferable experience in utilities, drainage, site development, or municipal engineering. The successful candidate may perform hydraulic modeling, system analysis, project management, and develop designs for pipelines, pump stations, and major capital improvements.

OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) plus a minimum of five (5) years of engineering work experience within one or more of the specialty areas listed below (See Engineering Disciplines and Specialty Areas).
Master of Science degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering plus at least four (4) years of engineering work experience within one or more of the specialty areas listed below (See Engineering Disciplines and Specialty Areas).

PROMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
All regular employees of JEA who were hired or promoted after June 3, 2024 who have satisfactorily served for a minimum of three (3) years in the classification of Staff Engineer may be eligible for promotion upon recommendation of the hiring Director and confirmed by the Engineering Executive Committee and the Chief Human Resource Officer.
OR
All regular employees of JEA who were hired or promoted prior to June 3, 2024 who have satisfactorily served for a minimum of two (2) years in the classification of Staff Engineer may be eligible for promotion upon recommendation of the hiring Director and confirmed by the Engineering Executive Committee and the Chief Human Resource Officer.

The minimum salary for this position is $95,888 annually. Compensation will be determined based on education, licenses, certifications, skills, experience, and alignment with salaries for similar roles within the organization.
This position requires that employees be in compliance with JEA procedure ES A0200 A0101 RS 628 Screening Personnel Risk Assessments (pre-hire for FACTA designations; pre-hire and recurring for CIP designations).
