Key Responsibilities
Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects
Assist senior design staff in design of water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects
Review and analyze drainage systems for storm water or floodplains to ensure safety of the ecosystem and public; designs necessary conveyance systems to safeguard the area.
Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conducts feasibility studies for the construction of public utility infrastructure to meet identified needs
Analyze, or assist with analysis of, various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, and recommend the most effective method
Design and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systems
Collaborate with contractors and government agencies regarding construction of assigned projects
Ensure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
Conduct feasibility and related studies regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater, and prepare written technical reports
Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issues
Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
Align with marketing team on RFPs, presentations and scoping projects
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
BS or MS in Civil Engineering
Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
Experience designing water treatment plants, in part or in whole, a plus
5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources field
Project and / or Client Management experience is required
Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale multi-discipline water/wastewater projects of varying technical complexity
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines and other assigned project parameters
Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
