Job Description:
Join CDM Smith’s Twin Cities team and advance your career in municipal water and wastewater engineering.
 
Collaborate with industry-leading experts on innovative, high-impact projects that improve communities both locally and across the nation.
 
You will work with large Minnesota regional and national clients to solve the most interesting engineering challenges in the water / wastewater industry. Make An Impact 

  • Designing pipeline assessment, rehabilitation and replacement projects for potable water and wastewater systems.
  • Providing engineering support during design and construction for major regional water treatment projects.
  • Leading design tasks by engaging directly with stakeholders throughout capital project design and construction phases.
  • Participating in project management tasks such as defining scope, managing budgets, and project coordination.
  • Meeting with existing and prospective clients to support our sales team and facilitate the pursuit of current and upcoming project opportunities.
  • Enhancing your technical expertise through collaboration with leading professionals within the organization.
  • Technical development opportunities include involvement in industry-leading projects, participation in research and development initiatives, and engagement in conferences.
  • Providing mentorship to junior staff through structured guidance, work assignments, and technical reviews.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
  • Principles of design include preparation of design documents for municipal projects.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, Etc).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and/or wastewater analysis and design.
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to municipal clients through written reports and presentations.
  • Basic understanding of the design process (i.e., conceptual design through construction phase engineering).

Additional Compensation : All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position. Pay Range Min: USD $78,645.00 Pay Range Max: USD $129,750.00 Visa Sponsorship Available : No-We will not support sponsorship in the United States, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position
