The Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician supports the City's essential water distribution and wastewater collection systems by operating, inspecting, and maintaining infrastructure and related equipment to ensure reliable service and regulatory compliance. It is accountable for diagnosing and resolving system issues, contributing to facility improvements, and maintaining accurate operational records. Through proactive maintenance and problem-solving, this position helps safeguard public health and optimize system performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally. Subject to vision hearing and talking constantly; standing, sitting, walking, handling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing and foot controls frequently; lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling reaching, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching and crawling occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions involve occasional exposure to variable and/or extreme weather conditions, vehicle traffic, heavy equipment, machinery with moving parts, electrical currents, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals, and infectious diseases. Utilizes body harnesses, confined space breathing equipment, and/or other personal protective equipment as required.
