A nationally recognized engineering, construction, and infrastructure services firm is seeking experienced Tunnel Inspectors to support underground utility and heavy civil construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in utility construction, waterworks, sewer systems, or tunnel projects who enjoy working in the field and ensuring projects are completed safely and according to engineering standards.

A company vehicle and gas card are provided for work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on tunnel, water, sewer, and underground utility construction projects.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans, project specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect structural components, utility installations, and overall construction quality.
  • Document project progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions through detailed daily reports.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and municipal representatives.
  • Conduct field inspections in tunnels, shafts, confined spaces, and other active construction environments.
  • Verify compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with final inspections and project closeout documentation.

Qualifications
  • Experience inspecting underground utility, waterworks, sewer, tunnel, or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Strong written documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards, including confined space procedures.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including tunnels and confined spaces.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tunnel construction or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Confined Space Entry certification.
  • Experience with municipal or Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and utility inspection standards.
  • Experience with structural inspections or construction materials testing.
  • Ability to assist with project closeout documentation and final inspections.
